Confidentiality
The confidentiality of participants is of paramount importance to us. All information is held in strict confidence, and in a way that meets all the security criteria set by the Data Protection Act 1988. Only the study’s principal investigators, Dr Chambers and Professor Kooner have access to the personal information held on participants. Information is only shared with other researchers after it has been fully anonymised (by removal of name, address and any other personal identifiers). The LOLIPOP study has been ethically approved by the West London Ethics Committee. This official body has reviewed the study protocols and is satisfied that your safety, rights, wellbeing and dignity will not be compromised through participation in the study. |
